Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you type a name or date of birth into a search box on this site, the entry travels straight to the outside provider that runs the search. That company processes the request and returns the results. We do not keep or log what you typed.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, we hold onto the message so we can write back. It stays inside our organization and is not passed to anyone outside it unless the law requires us to hand it over.
Data We Gather Automatically
Each time a page loads, our servers record a few technical details about the visit:
- The IP address your device used
- Your browser and its version
- Your operating system and device type
- Which pages you opened and how long each stayed on screen
- The referring site, when one sent you here
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files placed on your device. They let us see how visitors move through the site, which pages draw the most traffic, and where readers leave. Analytics services pull that information together into aggregate reports. You can block cookies in your browser settings at any time, though a few parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Passing your search request to the correct partner service
- Learning which pages readers find useful and which need work
- Diagnosing and repairing technical problems
- Showing advertising that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant records. What it publishes is general guidance about where Itasca County warrant records are held and how to check them through the District Court, the sheriff's office, and the records request process. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing gathered about visitors is assembled into consumer reports or files about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes here are operated by outside companies. Whatever you enter into one of those tools is handled under that partner's privacy policy, not this one. Those companies set their own retention and sharing practices, and we have no control over them. Read the partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
We link to court pages, sheriff's office pages, state statutes, and third-party search tools. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and from that point the other site's privacy policy applies. Review it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A limited set of parties may receive it:
- Search partners that process the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security measures to protect the data we collect. Even so, no internet service can promise perfect safety. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is built for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Minnesota's data practices law, the Government Data Practices Act in Minnesota Statutes Chapter 13, gives people rights over government data. The same principles guide how we handle information about visitors, and the Minnesota Data Practices Office explains how to raise a concern about a government office. With respect to this site, you can at any time:
- Ask what we hold about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Request that your data be deleted
- Opt out of certain kinds of processing

This privacy policy may change over time. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to follow how your information is handled.
